Outline

This article will walk you through the components of the Intellum Platform that can be utilized to create a unique branding experience for learners. It will also offers tips and best practices for optimizing component usage in the platform.

Home Layout

In the Home Layout settings, you can add or change the Homepage hero images and hero video. You can also add custom Homepage banner images that display similarly to the activity rows.

To access the Home Layout settings, go to Profile > Admin View > More > Settings > Organizations > Home Layout.

Homepage Hero Images

Hero images (sometimes referred to as feature images, mastheads, etc.) sit at the top of the page just under the navigation bar and span the entire width of the page. The height is determined by the image or video you upload.

To add a hero image to your Home Layout, click + Add Hero Image, choose your file, and click Save.

  • Recommended dimensions: Desktop - 2400x650/Mobile - 800x450.

  • Supported image format: JPG, PNG, GIF (Size Limit: Desktop - 10MB/Mobile - 3MB).

  • Carousel feature: Add multiple images to your hero section by checking the box next to Display Images in a Carousel. Images rotate every five seconds. This feature is not compatible with the use of a hero video.

Planning on using the carousel? Be sure that hero images are cropped to the same size to create a seamless transition between each hero image.

Homepage Banner Images

Banner images are a great way to display additional content and/or resources to your users. They can be used as just images or, if you want to add an extra touch, you can link each image to a URL inside or outside the platform for maximum flexibility.

To reach the Add Banner Section page, start at the Home Layout page, click + Add Section, and then click Add > to the right of Custom Banner Section.

Fill out the page and click Save to add the banner images to your homepage.

  • Recommended dimensions: 1100x620.
  • Supported image format: JPG, PNG, GIF (Size Limit: 10MB).

Banner images do not display the section name next to the art, so it is best to add a descriptive title or as much detail as possible for learners.

Look & Feel

In the Look & Feel settings, you can add that extra level of branding that will be automatically displayed throughout your site, allowing your organization logo and colors to tie the platform experience together.

To access the Look & Feel settings, go to Profile > Admin View > More > Settings > Organizations > Look & Feel.

You can upload a custom logo that will be displayed within the header of all pages.

To add your custom logo, click Choose File under Organization Logo and select your file.

  • Supported image format: JPG, PNG, GIF (Size Limit: 10MB).

The platform will not crop your logo but scale it to fit the appropriate space. Best practice is to upload a version of your organization logo that is cropped to the edges without any surrounding white space.
